Since 1973, KFC has been in the lives and hearts of Egyptians

It is the comfort that many people turn to celebrate or wallow. The relationship between Egyptians and KFC is passionate, forgiving, unyielding and vulnerable.

But, while KFC had over 170 stores on-ground, it was suspiciously absent online.

THAT didn’t stop the population from expressing their complicated, messy, yet addictive relationship with KFC.

We broke our years of silence and put love on the menu by launching KFC Egypt’s first social account with a dedicated campaign: YETAKEL AKL

Yetakel Akl

An Egyptian take on “Finger Licking Good”

Focused on the love shared between us and our audience. A love that transcended language, class, and style – a love as inclusive, as delicious, as our chicken.

Campaign Activation

We followed this campaign with a digital activation to repay the love shown to us by our audience.

And, just as love is unconditional, so too was our activation, unconditional. No rules, no mechanics, no asks.

Just love.

Activation Chronicles

We started by resharing old proclamations posted before we had launched our official account on our feed

and repaid that affection in the only way we knew how: free chicken. It was clucking successful.

After our old flames received their [KFC BUCKETS and shared their experience online, we were flooded with love letters.

It was the first pure, unorchestrated user-generated campaign in KFC history.

Nothing was asked. More than 1000 posts were received over one month!
